
TIME dotCom Berhad (TdC) today announced the big daddy of all broadband news; the launching of their TIME Fibre Broadband Internet service, which offers users access speeds of up to 50Mbps (megabits per second).
Yeap, you read that right. A whopping 50Mbps, utilising fibre optic technology which is able to carry 1000 times more infomation compared to same sized copper cables.
The service is only available in Mont Kiara now, but rest assured that it’ll spread out across the Klang Valley over the next few months. Keep an eye out for our full coverage next month!

Futuromic Photo AV Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Ricoh’s products in Malaysia, has brought in the Ricoh GXR camera to our shores.
This digital camera has an interchangeable unit camera system where the lens, image sensor and image-processing engine have been integrated into the camera units, liberating the body from these components. These camera units can be changed using a slide-in mount system. From the brief hands-on time we have, we’re pretty interested by it. More in our upcoming issue!

Intel has ushered in the new year with brand new inclusions to their Intel Core Processor family.
The highlights of the announcements include new Intel Core i5, i7 and i3 processors, Intel 5 Series Chipsets and Intel Centrino Wi-Fi and WiMAX adapters that include the new Intel Wi-Fi features. Their mainstream processors now offer Intel Turbo Boost Technology, and selected processors now have integrated graphics graphics directly into them. LG today unveiled the Digital LED LCD TV SL90, their first LED Television, which is virtually ‘borderless’ thanks to the Injection Compression Molding technique that was used in its engineering; the end product is an uninterrupted glasslike surface that eliminates the space between the screen and bezel.
The TV boasts a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio along with an anti-glare, full 1080p screen, alongside TruMotion 100Hz technology for fast-moving pictures. There’s also a Bluetooth feature, and as a signature of LG, features Invisible Speakers. Check out our coming issue for the full coverage.

KUB Malaysia Berhad, through its subsidiary Empirical Systems (M) Sdn Bhd has launched PROBIT, an IT Managed Service Solutions. The launch also saw MoU signings between three local ICT companies, which partnership sees KUB Malaysia as the first Government Linked Company in the country to provide an MSP.
PROBIT will be targetted at governmental offices, but can also be used by private corporations and other industries.

Nikon launched Malaysia’s first and South East Asia’s largest Nikon Centre at Berjaya Times Square Mall.
The Centre will act as a one stop venue for photography enthusiasts and the public to have an up close and personal experience with equipment, professionals and the art of photography with a dash of Malaysian culture.
The Centre will also provide repair services, resources and opportunities for enthusiasts of all ages and abilities to engage with the medium of photography.

MSIG Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd just recently introduced the MSIG GenPage, which is – in simpler terms – websites specifically for its agents, in a bid to complement the e-business initiatives MSIG has been running.
With GenPage, MSIG can now have an interactive web presence which incorporates MSIG product offerings and agent’s profiles. The way we see it, this is one well-insured move. Read the upcoming February issue for more.
