It’s confirmed! PS3 slim version is coming soon (1st September 2009 to be precise). Unlike the fat PS3, it actually only available in 120GB HDD size, with 33% deduction in form, cutting the power consumption by 36% and lighter by 34%. The price? $299 for debut version (a very good price!). I must say that it actually tempted me to own one ( I don’t have a PS2 either) even though I got no much time to play with it.

Too bad this slim version doesn’t support 3rd party OS installation as well as PS2 backward compability, but you won’t need it if your purpose is purely to play games (Grand Turismo 5!) and watch some blu-ray movies
News also stated that the old version of PS3 will get a $100 price cut until it has been totally phased out from the market.
Too bad I found nothing in Sony website regarding the availabillity in Malaysia (probably I should go and ask those game shop since they can bring it here unofficially faster than Sony).
