Hours after we saw the launch of the Samsung Galaxy M20, Samsung also announced the Galaxy A30 and A50 in a glitz-filled launched at W Hotel KL. Designed to appeal to the younger crowd, the A30 and A50 come with great features, as well as a design and colours that young people would like.

As a new midrange duo for the Korean brand, the Galaxy A30 and A50’s main target demographic is (quoting Samsung) “today’s connected consumers, especially the young millennials and Generation Z users.”

Samsung Malaysia Electronics’ President, Mr. Yoonsoo Kim who attended the launch, had this to say: “We bring Samsung Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A30 into Malaysia to help young consumers cut through the cluttered market and easily own the most essential features in response to their connected lives. We have taken into consideration how their lifestyle and mobile user behaviour have progressed, going further than merely pretty selfies, enhanced gaming or on-demand video.”

Of the two devices, the Galaxy A50 is the higher-end model with an impressive feature lineup for its asking price. Besides a triple rear camera setup, the third of which is a 5MP depth sensor, it also comes with On-screen Fingerprint Sensor. The Galaxy A30 lacks the third camera sensor and the fingerprint sensor remains at the back but is nevertheless an excellent device.

In both devices, the camera will have a 123-degree ultra-wide lens to capture more of the landscape or accommodate more people into your wefie shots. It will also have an AI scene optimiser to enhance your photos taken. In addition, both phones also boast a robust 4,000 mAH battery with fast-charging support, more than capable of supporting the 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Full-HD+ Infinity-U display. Combine the display’s high contrast, colour and brightness level with the near bezel-less screen, and you will be able to enjoy an immersive viewing experience on the two devices.

The major differences for the Galaxy A30 are all at the back: a lighter shade of blue, a back fingerprint sensor, and a dual-camera sensor instead of triple.
