We got the chance for a short one-to-one session with the latest Xiaomi Mi MIX 3, and this is what we have to show everyone. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 has a 6.39-inch smartphone which features a Full Screen Display covering 93.4% of the body. To produce great colours the MIX 3 uses an AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution (2340×1080) and an aspect ratio of 19:5:9. It’s also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for the best screen durability you can find on a smartphone.
Under the hood, the MIX 3 sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 AIE processor with clock speeds of up to 2.8GHz and an Adreno 630 GPU. The Snapdragon 845 is one of Qualcomm’s most powerful SoC’s so it’s not surprising when it was incredibly smooth and responsive whilst going through menus. Not only that, it comes with a fast UFS 2.1 storage.
The MIX 3 has an aluminum frame which adds a nice rugged feel despite the body looking fragile due to the ceramic back, but the phone is a bit heavier than expected at 212g. On the back you’ll find the 12+12MP rear camera which uses a Sony IMX363 f/1.8 and Samsung S5K3M3 sensor for it’s main and secondary cameras. Whereas the front is a 24+2MP rear camera that uses the Sony IMX576 f/2.2 sensor.
Powering all these features is a 3,200mAh battery and the phone supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4+ and Qi wireless charging. Software wise the phone uses the MIUI 10 OS which is based off Android 9 Pie. It supports a fingerprint sensor which is found on the back, and will support Face Unlock in future updates. Some additional observations is the lack of a headphone jack, but the phone comes with a Type-C to 3.5mm dongle.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 will come in 4 configurations each with increasing RAM and storage space.
