Before showing off the A9, representatives from Samsung took some time to talk about the previously announced model, the Galaxy A7 with its triple camera setup. But a little refreshment on the specs, the device comes packed with an Exynos 7885 2.2GHz processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that can be upgraded with a microSD card of up to 512GB. As for the display, it has a 6-inch AMOLED display, topped on a glass back and powered with a 3,300 mAh battery. The phone does still utilise a microUSB to charge the device. As mentioned, the device comes packed with a triple rear camera set up of 24-megapixel + 5-megapixel + 8-megapixel and a whopping 24-megapixel front camera. Your selfie game will be out of this world! Instead of a regular fingerprint reader placement, the reader is now fused into the power button on the A7.

But the star of the show is with the Samsung Galaxy A9, the world’s very first quad rear camera setup. If you think two cameras are an overkill, talk about four! But that’s not all there is to the A9. It is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that you can also upgrade with a 512GB microSD card. The device is also fitted with a decent 3,800 mAh battery that will easily last you a day with regular use, and as for the display, you have the trademark Samsung Super AMOLED display on a 6.3-inch screen.

The A9 utilises a USB Type-C connection to charge the device and a headphone jack can still be found on the device. But onto the main talking point of the device – the quad camera setup on the back of the phone. It sports a 24-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 10-megapixel + 5-megapixel rear camera setup that would offer overwhelming photo taking capabilities, be it using the normal lens, the wide-angle lens or telephoto lens, the A9 should be considered if you are a photo-taking fanatic or just someone that is super active in social media platforms. Also lets not forget the 24-megapixel front shooter that will also take amazing selfies effortlessly.

Before wrapping things up, Samsung even invited AoA (Ace of Angels) a kpop girl-group famous for their energetic performances and songs, along with DJ Soda to perform in the after party. An unexpected surprise but pleasant surprise that’s for sure.

The Samsung Galaxy A7 will come in three colour variants of Black, Blue and Gold, while the Samsung Galaxy A9 will come in three unique colours of Caviar Black, Bubblegum Pink and Lemonade Blue. The colours of the A9 are created like a gradient, so the colours will vary differently. For example, the Lemonade Blue starts at the bottom with this dark blue tint, and gradually gets lighter until it reaches this yellowish colour on the top.

The Samsung Galaxy A7 will be available to pre-order come the 15th of October,  and if you do so, you will be able to bask in the rewards worth RM302, and will retail at RM1,299. The pre-order event will end on the 21st of October, so be quick! As for the Galaxy A9, no concrete release dates or pricing are given, but we expect both devices to land locally come November.
