When ASUS first revealed its ROG Phone at this year’s COMPUTEX, we knew that it was going to be something special. It was a bold concept that will definitely excite many and we couldn’t wait for it. Months went by with no news in sight, but now, almost 4 months later, the folks over at ASUS Malaysia invited us over to their office for a sneak peek of what the final product will look like.

Here, we have a shot of the box package for the ROG Phone and some of the accessories. On the left is the Mobile Desktop Dock and the TwinView Dock is on the other side, while the bottom right is a more basic dock. We’re still checking with ASUS on which ones will be sold separately or bundled, but as far as we can tell there’s going to be one special bundle set in which every accessory available will be sold along with a hard clamshell suitcase.

This is the box that The ROG Phone will come in. We think it looks like a tube of Toblerone chocolate. Yum!

Inside the box, you’ll find the ROG Phone itself, the AeroCooler fan, and some smaller boxes with the usual knick-knacks.

Everything inside after being taken out.

The flat, smaller container contains the user guide and some spare stickers with the serial number and IMEI number of the unit.

Inside the other box is a USB Type-C cable, the power adapter, and two replacements for the phone’s side port’s rubber cover. ASUS assured us that the power adapter for the units sold in Malaysia will have the proper 3-pin plug that we use, so no need to worry.

As you can already tell, an AeroCooler fan will be included with every purchased unit.

At the bottom of the AeroCooler fan, you’ll find a 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C port.

It uses a USB Type-C port for charging and yes, the audio jack isn’t missing. Thank goodness.

AeroCooler docked to the ROG Phone, so no more worries about cables getting in the way of landscape mode gaming.

The price for the ROG Phone hasn’t been revealed yet, but we do know it’ll come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip that’s overclocked to 2.96 GHz and 8GB of RAM. There will be two configurations with either 128GB or 512GB of storage. According to ASUS, the local launch of the ROG Phone – along with a myriad of other new products – will be on the 22nd October 2018, where they’ll reveal its pricing and packaging models for the Malaysian market.
