AMD has just announced that it is bringing back the Athlon name, now with Vega graphics. The AMD Athlon 200GE will come with Radeon Vega 3 graphics in it and will be optimised for everyday PC users. Besides that, the company also announced that it will be adding to the AMD Ryzen 2nd Generation series with AMD Ryzen PRO and Athlon PRO desktop processors, intended for the commercial market.

By using AMD Zen architecture and combining it with Radeon Vega, AMD has come up with a versatile System on Chip (SOC) design in the form of the Athlon 200GE desktop processor. It promises greater responsiveness and reliable computing for basic everyday use cases, including web browsing or even PC gaming.

According to AMD, the new chip can offer up to 67 percent more graphics performance and up to two times greater power efficiency than its immediate competition from Intel, which is supposed to translate to 84 percent faster high-definition PC gaming performance – at least for this category of CPU.

We’ve included the basic specs for the new CPUs below, including the ones for the AMD PRO series.
