A Smaller Nova
A phone can get by easily by having great features and performance, but an exceptional phone is also stylish on top of that. For us, it’s great to see that manufacturers are building more sleek and compact phones for those who don’t like phablets. Also, there’s so much going on in the display department with Full HD+ and FullView displays.
This time round, HUAWEI took a big leap in the design department for its dazzling back cover, which may be a hit or miss with some people. But in our opinion it looks pretty good, albeit quite the fingerprint magnet. The smooth mirror like finish is welcomed and the phone looks like a double-sided mirror. But fear not, the display doesn’t reflect when the display is on, so all you see is an incredibly vibrant screen.
The display is a FHD+ screen with a resolution of 2280×1080 and a super high-colour gamut, providing truly rich and colours and details. Brightness and contrast, text and pictures, all look amazing on the HUAWEI Nova 3e as well. Under the hood, you’ll find a Kirin 659 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage that can be expanded further with a microSD card, something you’ll probably do later. Performance while doing regular daily activities like messaging, web browsing, and making calls is incredibly smooth, so you’ll find no issues working on the phone throughout the day.
It falls a little behind when it comes to graphics performance though, which can be seen in the benchmarks. That doesn’t mean you won’t be able to play games, and you’ll have no issues at all when playing your favourite games like PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends. But for something truly demanding, it may not work out.
Going back, didn’t we mention why you’ll want to increase your storage size? That’s because the phone will definitely appeal to the trigger happy. Both the front and rear have 16MP cameras, while the rear camera also comes with an additional 2MP camera for better depth perception. The front camera has an aperture of f/2.0, being more sensitive to light, to allow you take great selfies even in low light situations. As for the rear, they deliver stunning shots quickly and beautiful Bokeh shots thanks to the additional 2MP camera used for depth perception.
CHIP CONCLUDE: The Nova 3e seems perfect for influencers who want something stylish that make people go wow, and also want to enjoy smooth performance and photos to match their lifestyle.
