honor, a smartphone brand that usually offers smartphones with decent gaming specs for a low price is back at the fray again with a new offering – the honor Play. For today, we were invited to attend the launch at Sunway Pyramid and try out the phone for ourselves, but let’s dive into the specs of it all.

The honor Play comes topped with a 6.3-inch display with a 19.5:9 ratio, an odd one – but, it does have a notch so it explains the weird aspect ratio. Nevertheless, for a phone in 2018, a notch is expected anyway. It is also powered with a Kirin 970 processor with 4GB of RAM, along with 64GB of internal storage that can be upgraded with a microSD card of up to 256GB. It does use up the second SIM slot, so you have to decide between having a second SIM or more storage space. It also runs on EMUI 8.2.0, so you can take advantage of the latest Android offerings.

Speaking of offerings, the phone does offer a decent camera. Padded with a dual rear camera setup of 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel, and a 16-megapixel front camera. The device is also powered with a 3,750 mAh battery, and it should decently last you a day. As a brand that’s still focused on the mobile gamer, you can still find a headphone jack on the device, along with USB Type-C connectivity, allowing you to charge your device quicker, and in this day and age, USB Type-C is much more appreciated – saving you the hassle of looking for the proper way to slot it in.

The honor Play will also be collaborating with PUBG Mobile to offer you a new mobile gaming experience in 4D Smart Shock.
