Predator, the gaming series under Acer has just launched a few new products with some enticing price, powerful specs and jaw-dropping futuristic design. Diving into it, the first product they introduced is the new Predator Helios 500 that is equipped with the 8th Gen Intel Core i9-8950HK processor that can be overclocked, a massive 17.3-inch Full HD IPS display with 144Hz of refresh rate along with NVIDIA G-SYNC. Speaking of NVIDIA, the laptop comes packed with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB GPU and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. For your storage, you have a 512GB NVMe SSD with 1TB of HDD. To keep this powerhouse cool, Acer has equipped it with Dual AeroBlade 3D metal fans with five heat pipes. A more affordable version of the Helios 500 is also available, sporting an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H processor, 16GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD with 1TB HDD.
As for the Predator Helios 300 and Nitro 5 laptops, they will also be refreshed with some new configurations as well, most notably the Acer Nitro 5. One configuration of the laptop will be sporting an 8th Gen Intel Core i7+ 8750H processor with 4GB of RAM and 16GB of Intel Optane Memory. Acer has explained that the + in i7 merely means that the laptop will be packaged with an Intel Optane Memory package. 1TB of storage and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti can also be seen on the laptop.
Next up, we have the prebuilt desktops. The first one introduced is the Predator Orion 5000, it is outfitted with 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8700 processor, 16GB of RAM that can be upgraded to 64GB and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 GPU. Storage wise, you can find a 256GB SSD and a 1TB HDD on the desktop. All packaged in a EMI-Compliant chassis with transparent side panel that allow you to glimpse into the build. It will also feature IceTunnel 2.0 cooling system to keep the desktop cool while you are dominating the playing field.
We also caught a glimpse of the new Nitro 50 desktop, made for the gamers with a tight budget. Powered with an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8700 processor, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, 128GB of SSD and 1TB of HDD along with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 GPU. A unique feature of the desktop is that it comes with an optional Qi Wireles Charging Pad that you can have on the desktop to wirelessly charge your devices.
We were then introduced to a new monitor, the Predator X27. As its name suggests, it is a 27-inch monitor with 3840 x 2160 resolution, 4ms of response time and 144Hz of refresh rate. Yes you heard it right, it is a 4K display with 144Hz of refresh rate. That aside, it is equipped with Quantum Dot Technology, HDR Ultra and NVIDIA G-SYNC HDR. A monitor that breaks the boundaries. A new keyboard was also showcased, the Predator Aethon 500. It is a full-sized keyboard with dedicated media control keys, Kailh Blue Switches, Full N-Key Rollover and features an aluminium faceplate on the front of the keyboard, and a detachable wrist rest. The keys on the keyboard can be lit up individually, and there are five macro keys on it for all your shortcut needs.
Most of the products mentioned are now available to purchase with the Predator Orion 5000, Acer Nitro 50 and Predator X27 available on a later date. Pricing is as follows:
