Yesterday, Sony announced the availability of a dual pack for their ever-popular Uncharted series on the PlayStation 4 with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. For fans who have yet to try out the Uncharted series, this is a good time to pick up the series.
In the Uncharted series, you primarily play as Nathan Drake, a Treasure Hunter. Your job takes you around the world, digging, diving and exploring for hidden goods. The treasures and trinkets that you find in the game usually can be tied to real world objects. It is good to know that some developers still have an intricate level of detail and care for realism. In Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End you play as an older Nathan throughout most of the story and after retiring as a treasure hunter, but with a strange twist, you are forced into that world again.
However, according to how the story panned out, this could be Nathan Drake’s last foray as a main character in the series. As with Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, the story revolves around Chloe Frazer, one of Nathan’s past love interest, and the game plays a stand-alone, meaning that you do not require Uncharted 4 to play it. In this instance, the story takes place a few months after the conclusion of A Thief’s End. Nathan is referenced in the story, but is not featured in the game.
Naughty Dog, the developer of Uncharted mentioned that they have ended Nathan’s story in a high and with everything related to him ended in Uncharted 4, there is no need for them to bring him back. So in the future, we might be seeing a new main protagonist to the Uncharted series, or a fullstop to the Uncharted series as Naughty Dog ventures into the unknown.
The Uncharted Dual Pack is now available to purchase from your local game stores and is priced at RM229.
