A Lite Friend

Tablets used to be all the rage few years back and its popularity has been fizzling out over the years. But that doesn’t mean there’s no need for tablets, as many business and even educational institutes use them to innovate the way they do business and educate the future generations. There is still consumer value in tablets, especially for parents who want to use it for ‘‘edutainment”, or people who want to bring their movies and mobile games around.

The Huawei Mediapad M3 Lite fits that description well. It has a 8-inch display with an IPS LCD touchscreen, with an aspect ratio of 16:10 and a resolution of 1200 x 1920. It comes with a free case in the box, so right away you’ll have extra protection that also acts as a stand. The tablet alone looks luxurious and when the cover is attached it gives off a professional vibe. Its size makes it great for carrying about, as it’s slim and light enough to slip into a handbag and forget about.

When it comes to everyday usage the tablet has the hardware to handle your everyday tasks like web surfing, blogging, watching VoD’s and playing games. We can see gamers who like playing games like Mobile Legends, FGO, Hearthstone and Summoners War enjoying this tablet a lot. Sound wise the M3 Lite performs quite well. It’s loud and clear enough to enjoy your movies by yourself or with a few friends, but probably not in a noisy environment.

The tablet also has a pair of cameras, one on the back and one on the front, perfect if you want to have video calls. Battery life is pretty decent as it has a built-in 4,800mAh battery, which can get you through the day, unless you have everything turned on and are playing games throughout the day. We usually aren’t fans of manufacturers using their own OS because it usually comes with bloatware that annoys us, but the EMUI on the M3 Lite was clean and that’s good.

CHIP CONCLUDE: A good buy if you need a tablet as its slim and portable, while still offering the performance you need to achieve your everyday tasks and mobile gaming.
