Live A Life Full Of Selfies

Sometime ago, the word ‘‘selfie” was officially recognised as a real word, with its induction into the dictionary. Now, we have a phone series that’s named after that from ASUS. With selfie as the important hook for this device, let’s take a look at what this device has to offer.

Sporting a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display for all your media needs, its display has brilliant colours and even a bluelight filter for when you need it. Powered only by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 and 4GB of RAM, it doesn’t quite hold up against flagship devices but has enough computing performance for regular use. However, considering the price of the device, we’re not too miffed that we’re not getting the fastest device out there.

The star of the show on the device is its Dual Front Cameras. It’s capable of taking pictures of up to 24-megapixel with its DuoPixel technology on the Sony IMX362 sensor, while the secondary camera provides 120-degree wide-angle so that you can fit more friends into your the frame for wefies. Its rear camera is average, with 16-megapixels and the ASUS SuperPixel Engine for better image processing. When testing the selfie capabilities, we found that it does the job well. In portrait mode, you can even blur out the background to focus on you and your friends instead.

If you wish, you can record 4K UHD and Slow-motion videos on the cameras. It is also worth noting that the 24-megapixel DuoPixel mode is not automatically enabled, so you will have to fiddle with the settings a little before being able to take higher quality selfies. With Soflight LED Flash and increased brightness for low-light photos, you can take selfies anywhere you go. Included in the whole package is the SelfieMaster technology that comes with tons of customisations. Additionally, you can even do live streams with BeautyLive, which automatically beautifies your face when streaming.

CHIP CONCLUDE: A great selfie phone that comes packed with features and is reasonably priced, but not for non-selfie fans.
