On the 5th of September, GIGABYTE invited us to attend their GIGABYTE AORUS Night. At the event, they premiered some of their newest motherboards and gave us some insight on the lifespan of their current line of products that are out on the shelves of their distributors.
Anton Chiu, Specialist in Product Development Department under Motherboard Business Unit for GIGABYTE was the man under the spotlight for the night as he talked about the new technologies that are added to the newer motherboards for the year 2017.
The X399 motherboards, specifically the X399 AORUS Gaming 7. Built for the AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors, it comes equipped with RGB Fusion and Digital LED strip support, so you can line your casing with LED strips to breathe more life into your case and to sync it all your RGB together to create a symphony of light. With 8 DIMM slots of up to 3,600MHz and more with overclocking. With Thermal Armor and Guards along with Gold Plated Connectors, the motherboard is built to last and is capable of handling most that you throw to it with no issues.
Audio wise, an ALC 1220 Amp, Nichicon Audio Capacitors with WIMA Capacitors can be seen on the board to provide you with immersive and quality audio without the need for an external amp or DAC. As for cooling, GIGABYTE opted for Smart Fan 5 to keep your computer cool, and can be configured to optimally cool wherever you set it to, or just keep it automatic to let your computer figure out where more cooling is required. It can even support up to 4-way CrossFire or SLI for all your graphic card needs.
The X399 DESIGNARE EX was also mentioned, a motherboard that’s made to for the graphic artists that require a powerhouse of a workstation. The motherboard is given a more unique styling with its almost all-white plating design. It also comes with the new features that GIGABYTE was announced previously such as RGB Fusion, Digital LED, Smart Fan 5, and much more. It can also support 4-way CrossFire/ SLI.
