Yesterday, honor launched their latest smartphone that’s built for speed and performance – the honor 8 Pro. The device is set to breakthrough standards set by smartphone manufacturers. Specs wise, the phone sports a Kirin 960 processor with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded with a 128GB microSD card. Topped with a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, and a whopping 4,000 mAh battery, this device is not one to be chuckled at. It also comes with the new EMUI 5.1, which will reduce lag and ensures your apps load smoothly. Aside from that it will learn and improve based on your app usage. For example, at 5.00PM, a time which you usually head home and fire up Waze. After a while it will be able to anticipate your need for Waze at 5:00PM and pre-load the app for you.

With the 4,000 mAh battery, honor’s lab test results show that the 8 Pro can last up to 2 days of regular use and up to 1.44 days of heavy usage. Camera wise, it is equipped with a dual 12-megapixel rear camera setup, and an 8-megapixel front camera that will sate your selfie desires. It can also shoot in 4K to ensure the highest quality of videos, and the two cameras shoot in different modes. One shoots in monochrome while the other shoots in RGB, which when compiled will bring your images to life. The device also comes VR-ready, as it is bundled with a cardboard viewer and a pre-installed app (Jaunt VR).

honor has also partnered up with Moonton to bring up the honor 8 Pro as the official gaming phone for the tournament, which will be used by professional e-sports gamers. Moonton is the developer for the popular mobile game, Mobile Legends. Both companies will look to bring more content to the game by introducing new skins for heroes and more.
