Yesterday, moto Malaysia announced a few devices that is sure to wow your socks off. The Z2 Play, the second generation of the moto Z Play was the main attraction of the event. moto C, moto C Plus, moto E4 and moto E4 Plus were also shown at the event as well.
The Z2 Play as previously mentioned is a newer version of last year’s Z Play, and now comes with more motomods to fulfil your modular desires. It comes with a Octa-Core Snapdragon 626 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM with a 2TB microSD card support. The device will also be running on the latest Android 7.1.1 with future upgrades to Android O when it releases. Camera wise, the Z2 Play sports a 12-megapixel rear camera with a 5-megapixel front camera. A 3,000 mAh battery can be found on the device, and with Turbo Charging you can expect usage of up to 7 hours on just 15 minutes of charging. A 5.5-inch display tops the device, and it only weighs a 145 g without mods that is. New motomods such as the JBL SoundBoost 2, moto turbopower Pack, moto Gamepad, moto Style Shell that allows wireless charging, and much more can be equipped on the Z2 Play. Older mods such as the Hasselblad True Zoom, moto Insta-share projector and much more can still be used on the device. Augustin Becquet (Executive Director, General Manager of ASEAN Lenovo Mobile Business Group and Motorola Mobility) mentioned that they plan to allow the motomods to be used until the 3rd generation. So, when Z3 Play releases, you can still use your mods without worry.
Other devices present on the show-floor was the moto C series. Coming with 2 versions – moto C and moto C Plus. The moto C, is running on a MT6737m processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM, which can be expanded with a microSD card up to 32GB. A 5-megapixel rear camera coupled with a 2-megapixel front camera for all your photo needs, along with a 2,350 mAh battery to compliment your lifestyle. It is also fitted with a 5-inch display. As for the moto C Plus, it runs on a MT6737 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of ROM, which can also be expanded with a 32GB microSD card, an 8-megapixel rear camera with 2-megapixel front camera. A whopping 4,000 mAh battery is packed into the C Plus. A 5-inch display tops the C Plus as well.
As for the moto E4, it comes with a MT6737 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM which can be expanded with a 128GB of microSD card. For the camera, a rear camera of 8-megapixel and a front camera with 5-megapixel can be found on the device. For the battery, a removable 2,800 mAh battery with 5W rapid charging is present on the device. Display wise, a 5-inch HD display can be found the E4. Finally, the E4 Plus is topped with a 5.5-inch HD display, larger than its sibling in the same series. It also runs on a MT6737 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be upgraded with a 128GB microSD card. For the camera, you have a 13-megapixel rear camera with a 5-megapixel front camera. A much bigger battery of 5,000 mAh can be found on the device with rapid charging equipped.
The Z2 Play comes in Lunar Grey and Fine Gold, and is priced at RM 1,999, with motomods priced at RM 200 and above. As for the moto C and moto C Plus, it is priced at RM 399 and RM 539 respectively. Starry Black and Pearl White are the available colours for the moto C, while the moto C Plus comes in Starry Black and Fine Gold. For the E4 and E4 Plus, they are priced at RM 639 and RM 799 respectively. Both sport the same colours with Iron Grey, but the E4 comes in an additional Blush Gold colour while the E4 Plus comes with a Fine Gold colour option. All devices are now available to purchase from authorised Lenovo Mobile dealers and retail outlets. They can also be bought online from authorised e-commerce sites. The new motomods will be made available to purchase within the next three months.
