Real Entertainment Experience

Picking a TV is definitely a hard choice to make, especially when there’s so many competing brands out there. From LEDs to LCDs to IPS and OLED TVs, there’s a whole world out there to confuse the living daylights out of you. So, we’ll give you a hand with this review of the LG SUPER UHD 4K TV UH770T, or just UH770T for short. Sounds good?

The UH770T comes in two variants, one with a 55-inch display while the other has a 65-inch display. We were able to review the 55-inch variant which this review will be based on. This TV sports a resolution of 3840 x 2160 and upscales non-UHD content using a 6-step UHD Upscaler Engine. The upscaling works pretty well on FHD (1080p) videos and looks great, but we don’t recommend going any lower than 1080p even on any other upscaler.

With Dolby Vision, ULTRA Luminance, and an IPS 4K Quantum Display working hand in hand, the UH770T is capable of producing beautiful colours. Colours stand out well and exudes vibrancy, with contrasts between black and other colours being excellent. ULTRA Luminance is the key, as it channels balance energy from black parts of media to other colours, allowing colours to appear more vivid.

Audio wise the UH770T packs a punch, you won’t need additional speakers in a medium sized living room and it provides great audio quality as well. But if you have a separate pair of speakers, you have the ability to split the video and audio streams. Choosing to output video through HDMI and audio through Optical is an example. The UH770T also features the unique Magic Sound Tuning, which works together with LG’s Magic Remote to detect your surroundings and create the best sound profile that is tailored to suit your environment.

One of the reasons this TV won CES’s Accessible Tech award is due to webOS 3.0. The webOS allows you to easily connect to all different kinds of media, ranging from YouTube to Netflix and more. webOS is easy to navigate with the Magic Remote and has interesting features like the Channel Advisor ,which analyses your preferences and predicts what you’ll want to see in upcoming time slots.

CHIP CONCLUDE: The UH770T is not just a great television with beautiful colours, it also has its own ecosystem.
