Acer unveiled its latest series of ultrathin notebooks, the Acer Swift series at IFA in Berlin a couple of months back, and it is finally coming here to Malaysia. Whilst Acer unveiled the Swift 7, 5 and 3 models at the European tech event, Malaysians will have two out of three models, the Acer Swift 7 and Swift 3 to choose from.

The Acer Swift 7 is Acer’s thinnest laptop yet, measuring in at 9.98mm in thickness when the lid is closed. Clad in an all-aluminum chassis, the Swift 7 also weighs in at just 1.1kg, which also makes it one of the most lightweight computing devices around. Adding some toughness to this otherwise very svelte notebook is the inclusion of Corning’s Gorilla Glass screen, which makes the Swift 7’s 13.3 inch Full HD IPS display scratch-proof.

Powering the Acer Swift 7 is Intel’s latest 7th generation Kaby Lake Core i5 processor, with 8GBs of RAM and 256GBs of SSD thrown in for good measure. The Swift 7 also sports a brand new HDR-capable camera, which is able to brighten up scenery, making webcamming a bright, lag-free experience.

The Swift 7 is also equipped with the latest 2×2 802.11ac with MU-MIMO wireless technology to deliver up to three times faster connections. Users can also enjoy quick data transfer, connection to an external display, and charging of the laptop via two USB 3.1 Type-C ports. Speaking of charging, Acer claims that the Swift 7 is capable of lasting up to nine full hours on a single charge.

Thinness is no excuse for poor audio quality, and Acer is well aware of that, as the Swift 7 features Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony, which work simultaneously to immerse you in clear and bold virtual surround sound.

It also comes with an extra-large precision touch pad which enhances the overall multi-touch experience on a touchpad. It doesn’t matter if you are using four, three or two fingers, your gestures fit perfectly on the extra room provided by the touch pad regardless of your finger size.

The Acer Swift 3 meanwhile is a similarly-sized laptop, powered by Intel’s 6th generation Core i5 processor, featuring 4GBs of RAM and 256GBs of SSD storage space. Some of the more notable differences in the Swift 3 include a slightly thicker chassis at 18mm and USB Type-A ports instead of Type-C.

The Acer Swift 3 sports mostly similar specifications to that of the Swift 7, with the exception of the 6th generation Intel Core i5 processor and 4GBs of RAM
