Samsung has just launched its new line up of SUHD TV, which are now designed with the Quantum dot display technology.
“In the ever-changing climate, Samsung has always been about providing the ultimate experience in picture quality for our consumers, and that is how we came to create our new line of SUHD TVs. It is for our consumers that we focus our efforts to provide stunning brightness and contrast with the most realistic colour and clarity for every viewing environment,” said Jimmy Tan, Head of Consumer Electronics Business, Samsung Malaysia Electronics.
Samsung prides itself in having pioneered many technologies when it comes to TVs. This included the world’s first digital TV, first FHD 3D, and the first to introduce curved display. Now with the new SUHD TVs, Samsung can claim another world’s first – cadmium-free SUHD TVs with Quantum dot display.
Having debuted earlier this year in CES 2016, one of the new Quantum dot TVs’ biggest calling card is amazing true-to-life picture quality. These displays are able to output 64 times more colour expressions than regular TVs, meaning they are highly accurate and better at displaying the subtleties in different shades of colours. The new SUHD TVs will also have HDR (High Dynamic Range), with 1,000 nits of HDR to deliver greater levels of contrast between light and dark images. Furthermore, reflections are greatly reduced with the Ultra Black panel technology, thus improving the viewing experience.
Samsung has also introduced the first curved TV with no bezel. This is a result of the company’s 360-degree design that produces a TV that looks good, regardless of which angle you view it from. Without bezels, the level of immersion when viewing is greatly enhanced.
To further improve the user experience, Samsung has updated its Tizen-powered Smart Hub service. The Smart Hub allows users to easily manoeuvre the interface through the wide range of content, which include services like YouTube, Netflix, downloadable games, and more. Another interesting feature of the new SUHD TVs is the ability to automatically recognise devices like set-top boxes, game consoles, OTT boxes or home theatre system that are connected. Once connected, the Smart Control remote can be used to operate all these devices.
The new SUHD TVs are available starting this month at Samsung Experience Stores and authorised dealers, with prices ranging from RM5,999 to RM99,999.
