Mobile Media Done Right

We all like to surf the internet on our phones, and when it comes to surfing the internet, streaming on YouTube or listening to music comes hand-in-hand. The Lenovo VIBE X3 seems to be targeted for those who enjoy watching and listening to media on their smartphones.

The Lenovo VIBE X3 comes with a 5.5-inch FHD IPS display which is nice and sharp, watching videos on the VIBE X3 was definitely a treat. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of memory and 32GB of storage that’s expandable via microSD. Coming stocked with Android 5.1 the phone is ready to go once it reaches your hands. Performance wise it does great at just about anything, from gaming to surfing to working on it.

What we believe really sets this phone apart from many is their speakers that feature Dolby Atmos. The twin front speakers sound excellent, it’s as though the sound envelops you but probably not as much as full sized speakers do, but definitely one of the best on a smartphone. The speakers are loud and clear, capable of pumping out high volumes but at more demanding songs it tends to clip a little, but definitely bearable. We would like to note that the smartphone sounds best when it’s about half the length of an arm or a full arm’s length in front of you, and is turned horizontally like watching a movie.

The VIBE X3 boasts a 3-mic system with Wolfson audio technology so it would be a shame if we didn’t try it out. Using the built-in recorder, we gave the mic a few test runs including a short karaoke session. The mic performs better than we expected, and if distanced a bit further makes a great recording tool for when you’re bored and alone and want to sing out loud for a bit. This also translates into better voice communication over the phone which we also tested.

The 21-megapixel rear camera takes great photos even in varied light conditions, and is capable of shooting 4K Ultra HD video. Whilst the 8-megapixel front camera does an excellent job capturing selfies as tested by our selfie ‘‘experts”. It also features dual nano SIM for those who carry more than one SIM card around, especially for those who want to separate their business and personal numbers.

CHIP CONCLUDE: If you’re looking for a smartphone that performs well not only in work but also fun, the Lenovo VIBE X3 definitely hits the spot.
