MDeC and Google are collaborating for the Made For YouTube campaign, which aims to promote the production of local creative content. Through this collaboration, YouTube and MDeC will provide dedicated support to local content developers to help them achieve growth and success throughout the year long programme.

We would love nothing more than to help bring more Malaysian content onto the open Web and have Malaysian digital creators to connect directly with their fans.” Said Sajith Sivanandan, Managing Director of Google Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines and New Emerging Markets.

The campaign aims to grow local digital media content creators to bring them to the next level and reflect MDeC’s continued efforts to build the ‘new media’ sector to ensure healthy growth within the industry. The goal for the collective group is achieve RM1 million in revenue. Content creators will receive production facilities such as the Malaysia Animation Creative Content Centre (MAC3) and funding development.
