Huawei Technologies Malaysia makes further headway into the premium smartphone market in Malaysia with the official launch of their latest flagship device, the Huawei Mate S. Designed for Malaysian’s who appreciate the elements of style and substance in their smartphones, the Huawei Mate S marks Huawei’s growing commitment to create a premium look and feel in each of its devices, combining cutting-edge specifications and design.
The Mate S exudes style and simplicity with its full metal body, including a chassis designed from pure metal. The phone’s thickness is 7.2mm, with side edges measuring 2.65mm. The phone’s cushioned back features an ergonomic body for a comfortable grip, as well as skid resistant to help prevent the phone from being dropped. The edges of the LCD display is made into a transparent frame that extend 2.25mm to the edge, resulting in a narrow exterior frame.
The Mate S’ processing power comes from Huawei’s own HiSilicon Kirin 935 64-bit octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM, coupled with 64GB of internal storage to provide all the storage space you need. Out of the box, the Mate S runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, paired with Huawei’s EMUI3.1 to provide a smooth and intuitive experience. And topping it all off is a 2,700mAh battery that will keep your phone running all day long.
Also featured is a 5.5-inch AMOLED FHD screen that is protected by a 2.5D fourth-generation Gorilla glass screen that keeps those pesky scratches away. Another notable feature is Huawei’s very own Knuckle Sense 2.0, with functions which include circling a screen display to capture a screenshot, drawing letters to activate apps, and double-knocking to record. The new FingerPrint Sense 2.0 meanwhile improves fingerprint recognition and not to mention the all-new Force Touch which allows different actions to be done when using varying amounts of pressure.
The phone also sports a 13MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS), RGBW colours, and independent ISP hardware configuration. With a Professional Camera mode that allows for manual adjustment of ISO, exposure compensation, exposure time, and white balance. While for taking selfies, it has an 8MP front camera that uses a soft, front light and a new algorithm for a skin “beautifying” effect. The Huawei Mate S is available now at RM 2,698 inclusive of GST from authorised stores nationwide.
