AOC has recently partnered with Twentieth Century Fox to become the official monitor partner of the movie “The Martian”. The company also announced a brand new monitor in the form of the AOC G2460PF 144Hz monitor. In conjunction with the launch, AOC invited dealers, distributors and members of the media to a special screening of the movie the night before its release.
The AOC G2460PF is a 24-inch monitor with a refresh rate of 144Hz and a screen response time of 1ms, featuring AMD’s FreeSync Technology which synchronises the monitor to the GPU to remove visual tearing and stutter. In addition to that, the G2460PF sports a 4-way adjustable stand which allows the monitor’s height to be adjusted by 130mm, swivel left and right, tilt the screen angle, and even pivot the display by 90 degrees turning it into a vertical display.
Other extra features found on the G2460PF is the USB SuperSpeed hub that is compatible with USB 3.0 devices and storage devices, and can be used to connect gaming peripherals. The monitor also supports display inputs such as HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort, DVI and MHL. AOC also uses it’s very own Flicker-Free technology called Direct Current which constantly powers the backlight to eliminate flicker.
In the spirit of technological discovery and exploration, AOC has also announced a Facebook campaign which welcomes participants from countries across the Asia Pacific. Participants are able to win limited edition The Martian merchandise, as well as a Grand Prize of a free trip for 2 to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA. The Grand Prize includes a return flight from the winner’s country, 4-day car rental, and 3 nights’ accommodation at a luxury hotel in Orlando, Florida, USA. Also included is an exclusive Two-Day Space Adventure at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex and full-day admission to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex along with lunch with an actual astronaut, and many more.
There are 4 contests in total, the first contest runs from 16 September to 25 October 2015.
