ILLEGEAR is set to release its latest models built with the latest 6th-generation Skylake Intel Core processors during Q4 of 2015. The Skylake processors will deliver better cooling, improved CPU performance and greater battery life compared to 4th-generation Haswell processors. Moreover, Skylake supports DDR4 RAM that yields lower voltage, resulting in greater power savings and improved performance.
Estimated to be released in September & October are ILLEGEAR’s D7 and D5 laptops. The D5 will feature a 15.6-inch FULL HD IPS Display but can be configured up to a 15.6-inch 4K QFHD Display and is G-Sync capable. It will also come with either a NVIDIA GeForce GTX970M 6GB or GTX980M 8GB GDDR5 depending on which configuration you chose. Also available are memory configurations of up to 32GB Dual-channel DDR4 SDRAM at 2133MHz.
For audio and video applications, the D5 features a pair of 2 Watt Onkyo Speakers which will fulfil your multimedia needs. It will also come with two M.2 SSD slots, and an 8-cell battery, for a speedy startup and long-lasting battery life. Keeping all these powerful components cool are seven interconnected-heatpipes with dual-vent and dual-fan cooling. For video conversations or VOIP there is a built-in HD webcam and microphone that should work well enough for the purpose.
On the other hand, the ILLEGEAR D7 will come with a 17.3-inch Anti-glare Display IPS Wide Colour & Viewing and is G-Sync capable. The laptop will also feature the Z170 chipset, i7 Skylake Desktop Processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M/980M and up to 32GB DDR4 SDRAM at 2133MHz like the ILLEGEAR D5. With many of its features very similar to the D5 the D7 brings powerful performance but with a bigger screen. Both the Illegear D5 & D7 are scheduled to be available between September and October 2015.
