Best Of Both Worlds

The latest trend seems to incorporate two different mediums as a singular device in an attempt to streamline productivity as well as efficiency when it comes to daily work, and the Lenovo ThinkPad Helix 2 is another iteration of that concept which was made popular by products such as the Surface 3 or the Dell Venue 11 Pro.

This 2-in-1 device comes in two variant forms which are the Tablet mode and the Laptop mode which is enabled by inserting the tablet to the detachable keyboard that comes bundled with it. On the back of the device is the rear 5MP camera and the front 2MP camera. It comes with a variety of connectivity options such as a 3G SIM card slot to help you stay connected to the internet, and USB 2.0 and 3.0 slots. It also comes with a microSD slot for expandable storage.

From the design by itself, its main feature is predominantly in its flexible work modes which allows you to go from tablet straight into a laptop meaning you can keep your work data with you on the go while maintaining the same levels of productivity. It also has a stunning 400 Nit Display with IPS technology for high brightness and vivid colours. Additionally, this device also comes with a digitizer pen which helps provide touchscreen support via swiping, drag, open or clicking.

Performance wise, the Lenovo ThinkPad Helix 2 provides more than enough power to the average entrepreneur. During our benchmark tests with the device, it had scored highly on the PCMark 8 Tests while during our review, the product demonstrated smooth performance on video, music playback, and display experience. It also comes with an audio system that packs a punch, so no headphones would be necessary.

CHIP CONCLUDE: In conclusion the Lenovo ThinkPad Helix 2 is a good addition to any businessman on the go, but at its asking price, it may prove to be a barrier especially since it is priced well within other tablet/laptops with the same quality and performance, but nonetheless, this device’s performance speaks for itself and can hold its own.
