The Intel NUC, or Next Unit of Computing has many PC manufacturers starting to push into the mini PC ecosystem, as these computers not only save a lot of space, but also performs just as well as full-sized desktop computers meant for the home and office environment.
That being said, if you’re looking for a HTPC powerful enough to drive multiple high-end displays, or watch movies in Ultra High Definition, you’d definitely want to wait for a bit as ASRock have confirmed that they will be bringing in the ASRock Beebox here to Malaysia.
Engineers at ASRock have been hard at work testing Intel’s Braswell N3000 CPU to be put in to the Beebox NUC in order to build a mini PC that is capable of 4K playback, but have found that in order to make this possible, a dual-channel memory setup is needed in order to be able to push 4K playback into such a compact system.
In doing so, they have created the first NUC-certified machine features dual-channel memory in the market that is powerful enough to watch videos at the highest definitions possible. Powered by an Intel Braswell N3000 processor, the Beebox features dual-channel DDR3 memory, a 128GB SSD running Windows 10, as well as 802.11ac WiFi support.
As far as I/O ports go, two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort, three USB 3.0 ports, as well as one USB 3.1 Type-C port. The ASRock Beebox is expected to be available in local markets sometime in August or September this year.
