Sporting a full metal body, the new R7 series from OPPO is finally setting foot in Malaysia. Two models are to be sold here – the R7 Lite and R7 Plus. The two models will be the company’s current flagship phones for the local market.

“We listen to our customers’ needs and requirements in a smartphone hence developed the two OPPO R7 series variants to meet various market demands. Our intense research and development, along with consistent innovation in creating a user-friendly and advanced smartphone technology will create seamless experiences for our users,” said William Fong, the CEO of OPPO Malaysia.

OPPO R7 Plus

Designed with elegance in mind, the R7 Plus and R7 Lite share similar stuff inside the metal unibody construction. The R7 Plus features a 6 inch AMOLED display with a 1080p resolution. This is paired with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 quadcore processor, as well as 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage for the R7 Plus and 2GB/16GB combo for the R7 Lite. Consumers can also expand their storage with a microSD slot for up to 128GB.

At the back of the body, you will see a 13 Megapixels camera sensor that is imbued with a variety of new imaging technology. This includes Anti-Shake Optimisation, Contrast Detection Autofocus, Phase Detection Autofocus, Flash Shot and many others.

OPPO R7 Lite

For the R7 Lite, it shares most of the specs with the larger R7 Plus, but it features a smaller screen – 5 inch HD AMOLED screen in this case, as well as a smaller battery in body.

The R7 Plus supports the VOOC Flash charging system, which gives the phone up to 75% of battery capacity in 30 minutes. This is useful for the R7 Plus as it has a 4100mAh battery, while the R7 Lite make do with a 2320mAh capacity and a standard fast charge system.

The latest OS from OPPO is deployed with the R7 Plus and R7 Lite. Color OS 2.1 is based on Android 5.1, and features a multitude of improvements across the board including faster app launch, shorter boot time as well as better animation across the system.

Both R7 Plus and R7 Lite will be available for the Malaysian market, with prices for the former set at RM 1,998 and the latter at RM 1,298. They will be on store shelves by early August, and preorders for the two models will be on the OPPO website, from 11/7/2015
