Looking to attract a different range of customers, Leica Malaysia launched their newest compact camera, the Leica Q. A camera that has a full frame sensor in body, the Leica Q features a Leica Summilux 28 mm f/1.7 ASPH. Lens, which is great for just about any photography situation out there. Thanks to the lens, low light shots will not be a problem with this camera.
Managing Director of Leica Camera Asia Pacific, Sunil Kaul says, “The Leica Q offers the greatest possible creative freedom for realising even the most demanding photographic ambitions, the Leica Q marks a new milestone for Leica Camera, build on the values of exquisite quality and sustainability.”
Apart from the 24-megapixel sensor, it also comes with an integrated viewfinder with a resolution of 3.68-megapixel. With a press of a button, users can achieve 28mm, 35mm and 50mm images with the same camera. The Leica Q also feature an integrated Wi-Fi module for wireless transmission of still pictures and video to other devices and remote control by WLAN from a smartphone or a tablet PC through the Leica Q app, available for iOS and Android.
If you want to get one – there is a wait. The first batch slated for Malaysia are already sold out, and Leica is trying hard to get more stock for sale. If it is back on sale, the Leica Q will be retailing at RM 16,000, with GST.
