As the festive season comes just around the corner, finding the right mechanic to help fix and service your car before the long journey back to your hometown is more important than ever. In order to facilitate the process even faster, a local company by the name of CarBengkel has recently announced and launched a brand new mobile app that helps you do exactly that.
A recipient of the Cradle CIP Catalyst product development grant, CarBengkel lets motorists locate nearby workshops and service centres to repair or send their vehicles for regular maintenance checks.
Armin Baniaz, founder and managing director of CarBengkel said that he and his team built the app so that car owners can find workshops that provide great service at amazing value easily, without spending too much time.
“Most households do not set aside a budget for car maintenance as they do other expenses but it needs to be done to ensure the vehicle’s optimal performance. It is only when the time comes for the vehicle’s regular service or when it breaks down that motorists realise they have to part with a sum of money or more if a part of the vehicle needs to be replaced.”
Car owners can use CarBengkel to request price quotations from workshops for repair or maintenance works and choose the one that fits their budget. Using the app, they can also arrange for the workshop to pick up their car for service if they’re too busy to drive in themselves, and drop off at home or office afterwards.
With the CarBengkel app, users can also send an SOS alert to nearby workshop when their vehicles break down in an unfamiliar area, and even send in a tow truck in case your car needs to be brought to the workshop.
Available for free on both the Android and iOS stores, CarBengkel boasts a network of 1,000 workshops and service centres nationwide, and it is expected that an additional 1,800 more will be included into its network soon.
The company also recently signed a partnership with the Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI) to chart the network of service centres and workshops nationwide. MAI will also be collating labour costs and the recommended retail prices of car parts which will be made available on the CarBengkel app.
