The start of 2015 has been a pretty good one as there have just been plenty of exciting announcements made. Not one to be left out, Intel also had something up their sleeves and its all about their latest generation of processors. The new 5th Generation Intel Core processor family is part of Intel’s latest wave of 14nm processors which promises an improved system and graphics performance while delivering a more natural and immersive user experience. It also aims to provide longer battery life when compared to its predecessors. The release of the 5th Generation Intel Core technology sees 14 new processors designed for both consumers and businesses, including 10 new 15W processors with Intel HD Graphics and four new 28W products with Intel Iris Graphics. The 5th Generation Intel Core processor is designed for future devices that offer a thinner,lighter and more efficient experience across a diverse variety of form factors, this includes traditional notebooks, 2-in-1’s Ultrabooks, Chromebooks, all-in-one desktops and mini PCs. As the 5th Generation Intel Core processor is made readily available, the Broadwell architecture is projected to be the fastest mobile transition in company history.

Intel will also be shipping their next generation 14nm processor for tablets with the codename Cherry Trail, to device manufacturers. The new system on a chip offers 64-bit computing , improved graphics with Intel generation 8-LP graphics, great performance and battery life for the mainstream tablets. This platform also offers global grade modern capabilities with LTE-Advanced on Intel XNM 726x platform, which allows Cat-6 speeds and carrier aggregation. Customers would be able to view this products in the first half of the year.

The latest Intel 5th Generation Core processors come with a variety of benefits and features such as an improved performance as the new CPU comes with 35 percent more transistors compared to its predecessor, architectural enhancements that gives the processor an improvement of up to 24 percent in graphics performance, a 50 percent increase in video conversion speed and 1.5 hours longer battery life . The latest Intel processors will come with graphic options such as Intel HD Graphics 5500, HD Graphics 6000 and Intel Iris Graphics 6100, all of which are able to provide amazing visuals and has 4K Ultra HD support, especially over Intel WiDi 5.1.

With the growing development on the Internet of Things (IoT), especially in areas such as retail, manufacturing and medication, the Intel 5th Generation Core processors are able to power this growing trend. With its groundbreaking design, the latest Intel processors provide enhanced performances but in smaller thermal envelopes thus supporting the future generation of IoT solutions while maintaining compatibility with past versions.

With the Intel RealSense 3D technology, these new processors are able to provide users with a more natural and interactive experience with no wires and password hassles. This technology brings forth features such as gesture controls, 3D capture and edit, plus innovative photo and video capabilities to devices .

For tablet users, the next generation Intel 14nm Atom processors, code named Cherry Trail, promises new user experiences with the Intel RealSense technology and Intel Context ware. Cherry Trail allows tablets to wirelessly display content to a big screen or projector, while also allowing them to log in to their device via face,fingerprint or a trusted device that they have assigned.

The lineups for the new 5th Generation Intel Core processor includes the Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5, Intel Core i5 vPro, Intel Core i7 and Intel core i7 vPro.
