If you’re an online shopping aficionado, you must have at least heard of the mother of all e-retail services, Rakuten from Japan. Finally opening up shop in Malaysia, Rakuten Online Shopping will focus on offering consumers the country’s best goods while employing Japan’s world famous customer service standards. This will also expand Rakuten’s footprint in South East Asia, marking its third e-commerce market entry in the region after setting up Thailand’s TARAD.com and Indonesia’s Rakuten Belanja Online.
Rakuten Online Shopping specializes in sales of products such as electronics, gadgets, fashion, gifts, books and toys, providing its customers with a vast array of items and knick-knacks from companies both local and international. Rakuten also aims to leverage the company’s 15 years worth of knowledge in the e-commerce industry by transferring their knowledge and helping retailers to make online shopping a truly viable and sustainable business.
As an added incentive, the first 1,000 members who register on to Malaysia’s Rakuten website are eligible for RM30 worth of Rakuten Super Points to get them shopping right away, so that they can see for themselves how effective Rakuten’s services are without having to spend money first. This campaign begins on the 1st of November right through to the 14th of November 2012.
